Andrea Egert, LCSW, LMSW – Psychotherapy in Englewood, New Jersey

My Experience
I am a fully-licensed psychotherapist with clinical experience working with preteens, adolescents, adults, families, and elders. I have a proven history of positive outcomes, and my clinical experience enables me to incorporate cutting-edge evidence-based treatment modalities,  along with time-tested psychotherapy approaches, into individualized work with my psychotherapy clients.

My Training and My Approach
My style is warm, positive, and supportive, and my training background is broad. I have full training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy that is approved by EMDRIA (The EMDR International Association), and I’m certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional by the Intl. Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP). I am also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Recent and Group Traumatic Episode Protocols (R-TEP and G-TEP), Forward-Facing Trauma Therapy (FFTT), and I have extensive training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

A Creative Perspective Tailored to You
My award-winning creative background in visual art, songwriting and performance, and literary fiction writing enables me to bring an enhanced skill set into my clinical work. I always strive to provide my clients with a clinically appropriate yet highly empathic and engaged psychotherapy experience, and my utilization of creative processes can positively impact the quality of the therapeutic experience, whether we are focused on discussion or — when clinically appropriate — engaged in highly personalized exercises that can involve writing, drawing, photography, and/or music. And my years of experience working in the field of journalism provide me with added perspective into the task of patiently and compassionately helping my clients explore important differences between “facts” and “feelings.”
